I cannot say enough good things about Lake Shore Resort! From the delicious complimentary breakfast, friendly staff, and incredible sunsets; we had the best time. Anyone considering a fall trip should absolutely stay here! They even had fire pits, blankets and hot cider for sunset watching. It was the perfect weekend getaway.

I dont want to leave a review because I dont want other people to find out about this place. But I want them to be busy when I'm not there. This is one of those best kept secret getaway spots that you won't be disappointed to visit.

A chilly gloomy weekend at Lake Shore resort was made cozy by the room views and the main office/lobby views. Everyone was so nice and the breakfast was great. The outdoor campfires set from morning to night was super cute. They even had blankets to use while sitting out there! The only thing missing was a hot cocoa option, but a glass wine did the trick :)

This place is absolute paradise! Came for a girls trip with my best friend and we were in heaven all weekend. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful—special shoutout to Michelle and Melissa at the front desk. They’re the sweetest! The grounds are immaculate, and it’s clear the owners pour their heart into every detail. The views? Unreal. Truly something out of a dream. We spent most of our time simply enjoying the hotel because it’s just that beautiful, welcoming, and relaxing—you genuinely don’t want to leave. Hot tip: bring playing cards and wine (it’s BYOB!) to enjoy on the patio. The local coffee they serve is delicious, and breakfast hit the spot. We’re already talking about making this an annual trip. It’s that special.

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. No photo I took of the sunset could do this place justice. This is a gem, tucked on the side of Lake Michigan. This was a splurge for my husband and I, and it was worth every penny-- which means a lot coming from some vegetable farmers. =) What a special place-- it truly is quiet and sets the stage for you to be able to drop in and find your ease and rest. There is so much beauty and comfort in the wrap around porch and all the areas they created to just sit and be. I can not WAIT to come back! It is truly a treasure.

I'd give more than 5 stars to this place if I could. The view was breathtaking and there are many places to sit down with a glass of something (or not) and watch the sun go down. The afternoon we arrived the power was out, and after it returned our room a/c didn't work. It took them maybe 20 minutes to come over after I reported it and they got it running again. We were there during the 90+ degree days, and the room stayed cool enough. (It was probably 15 degrees cooler there on the water than in town, thank goodness.) The room was clean and had everything we needed. It really takes the hassle out of going to the beach when beach access is right there (beware, it is 100 steps down to the beach), with chairs, loungers, tables and umbrellas already set up. I saw someone cleaning the loungers and chairs on Sunday afternoon and then again on Sunday morning, so they keep them clean. The beach is clean too. There are towels outside of the pool that can be taken down to the beach and you can also have breakfast or lunch delivered down there. Speaking of the complementary breakfast, it goes well beyond the usual free hotel breakfasts. Both days I had a wonderful harvest grain bowl that would have easily cost $15 elsewhere. The avocado toast packed a little punch, I'm told. The lunch/snack menu is fairly small, which is understandable and fine. My only issue with it is there were no vegetarian options, unless you went with guac/chips or hummus/pita bread. The chicken salad sandwich was great and a very reasonable price for the convenience of not having to leave the resort for food. The staff were helpful and friendly, offering restaurant recommendations (for dinner, which they don't serve) to those who asked. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back next summer.

We Got Lucky! My wife & I had a very much needed brief 4-day vacation here- we booked more or less last minute- and were able to schedule OUR time away per a very rare cancellation at Lakeshore Resort- The service, care, rooms, facilities, grounds, and location- are simply among the finest in Michigan (or the rest of the country). The staff in ALL areas and locations are superb- Grant & Melisa at the front desk could not have been kinder, politer or more efficient. (Q&A them about the best local restaurants for Dinner). Far enough AWAY from the typical screamingly busy summer-in-Michigan (or anywhere- waterfront towns Saugatuck in this case- Beautiful town- way too busy) - Lakeshore Resort was perfectly located- quiet, private, stunning landscaped grounds & an A+ pool, magnificent and sparsely populated private beach front & private woodland acreage... Our stay (and yours) includes an ala carte breakfast menu- it is not large nor needs to be: it IS Excellent in all. Ditto the lunch menu at Lakeshore resort. Simply Highest Quality- and Great Server's (Hi Dave & Tucker!). The menus' feature outstanding fresh local and homemade items in all. Chef Dustin did an excellent job- well prepared with care & pride in all. Here's a small thing maybe - but indicative of the entire small batch kitchen: I am a retired Executive Chef; and see things from a professional and personal "angle'- I met Chef Dustin upon request- just to pass on my Positive In All Feedback; but also with a question- the "small thing"- the pickles served with lunch were simply among the most unique and fabulous I had tasted in 40 + years. Chef Dustin explained that he made them from his German Grandmothers recipes, that he and his family had been following/making and preserving from her recipes for 3-Generations... Just brilliant. I hope that this young man and his family decide to produce some of these items for broader consumption- in Michigan, for the USA & Globally... A PERFECT start up business here. I would Grandmother's first name on the labels!- Maybe Mr. Milauckay's business expertise & decades of community based business pooling could be of assistance? Just throwing that out there! This Property and resort are privately owned- in the same family for three generations (if I recall properly)- Mr. Andrew Milauckay is the Owner/Proprietor. The obvious great care & attention to detail- the spotlessness, cleanliness of everything you see- all of it- is attended to with quiet diligence, while remaining absolutely unobtrusive to the guests... My understanding is that Mr. Milauckay is a designer and architect as well- the details of all- the rooms, furnishings, grounds, trees, grasses, food, spring water placement, the beachfront levels, bikes, kayaks, umbrellas, towels- name it! And they are simply SPOT ON- impeccable taste & seamless follow through in all... Thank You All At Lakeshore Resort- Cheers' and have a good year- JW
